Bush Family History
Jacob Busch migrated
from Germany to Australia in 1855, arriving in Sydney aboard the
"Peru" on 23 May and settled in the Hunter Valley. He brought
with him his second wife, Elizabeth (nee Gregorius), and four
children from an earlier marriage to Christina (nee Spengler),
namely Johan, Christina, Magdalena and Jacobus.
Around 1880 he moved
to Rosemount Vineyard near Denman and eventually retired to live
in the nearby township. He dropped the letter c from his surname
prior to being naturalised in 1884. Jacob and Elizabeth had 7
children.
